BMW Motorcycle Handlebar Risers
BMW Motorcycle Handlebar Risers for K Series Bikes

BMW Motorcycle Handlebar Risers
Handlebar risers are a growing business and many are the types and varieties around. From universal high risers to sporty units the choice seems immense. This is because there are so many different makers of bikes and different models of course. It seems unlikely that one could not find a riser to fit any bike on the market.
However, in the matter of the BMW K series this is how it is. Because of the central yoke and the bike needing a pair of bars all the normal spacer type risers can’t be made to fit these models.
That is up until now
Dave Flood of IDI bars has produced a set of bars for the models K1200 Rand S and the K1300 Rand S and also the R1200S. These bars are quite unique in as much as they are adjustable. This means you can set them anywhere you want through a whole rage of positions. It almost makes the name “riser” a misnomer because as you rotate the bars through there range of positions they go from being a “riser” to a lower position than the factory bars.
Swept Back Bars
As well as that he has made what he calls swept back bars. These bars are set back 8 degrees from straight which give a very comfortable and sporty riding position taking out a lot of the aches of riding so users say.
The bars come in bright and black finish to suit a riders taste and are made from billet aluminum so are very light, solid and strong.
Adjustment
They are offset nearly an inch so that means you can set them over a range of nearly 2 inches from one extreme to the other. This allows the rider to find the exact most comfortable riding position to lock the bars down. If after riding he finds he would like to shift them a bit this is just a matter of loosening the clamping bolts and re-setting them.
Fitting
Fitting the bars is very straightforward and no cables or hydraulic lines need to be extended or changed. A video showing the whole procedure can be seen on the website.
