How to Get Free and Discount Motorcycle Parts

discount-motorcycle-partsMotocross companies give away millions of free and discount parts and products when you sign up for their rider support programs. Gaining a lucrative motocross sponsorship is not just about the accomplishments you list on your resume. Sponsors are looking for the “complete package”. Consider adding the following to your resume and maximize your chances of receiving rider support. Below the steps that you should do:

Research online and get a contact name of the sponsorship coordinator or rider support manager for each company you are applying to. This will show you have made the extra effort and shows you know a little about the potential sponsor.

Include your goals for the upcoming season. Not everyone has a list of podium finishes to add to their resume but you can add your goals for the upcoming year. Be a “man/woman with a plan” and you will get noticed. It is also important to include how you achieved your goals from previous years. Did you start a training program, buy special equipment, travel to new tracks?? Include any and all of these.

Include a list of upcoming events you plan on attending. This will show the sponsor that you are going to be out promoting their products at your local events. This is what a sponsor is hoping for when they offer you discounts and free product.

Show off your professional set up. Send pictures of your bike (best if sponsors products are already in place), vehicle, trailer, pit area, etc. This tells a potential sponsor that you are going to represent their products in a professional manner.

Personalize your correspondence with report cards, teacher recommendations, club affiliations, pictures, a personal letter detailing why you want to be an ambassador for the company and why you deserve a sponsorship. Include any experience you have with the company’s product line.

Tips: Always include your name and contact info on each and every piece of correspondence you send to potential sponsors. It is also helpful to stick a mailing label with email on the back of pictures.
