It features four-stroke, liquid-cooled, SOHC, four valves per cylinder, 52° V-twin engine with 1700 cc displacement. With maximum torque 108 lb-ft at 2250 rpm, this bike is very powerful. For engine cooling, it uses liquid cooling system with cooling fins that will make heat exchange faster. It also uses digital fuel injection system which now uses one sensor in place of three, is also tuned to deliver peak torque and hp at higher rpm. It is the same fuel-injection system used in the Kawasaki Ninja 650R and Vulcan 900 motorcycles.
Front suspension uses 43 mm hydraulic fork and the rear uses swingarm with twin air-assisted shocks, with 4-way rebound damping. Front brake features dual 300 mm discs, dual twin-piston calipers and the rear uses single 300 mm disc, twin-piston caliper.
